I am currently pumping about six inches out of the pool. For the first time that I EVER remember, it overflowed. Are there rain totals yet? Is everyone ok? I noticed one of my Facebook friends was up in the morning clearing the perimeter of their home to make sure it didn’t flood.

I have no idea what’s flying around out there, but my nose must. I woke up this morning with one nasty sinus headache. I know I’m in trouble because the last dream I remember included my teeth falling out. That’s the number one clue I’m dealing with monster sinus issues. So how’s your day going? [...]

The Green Roof needs to see a red veto pen

One of you e-mailed this story from BrookfieldNOW yesterday on the Brookfield Common Council’s decision to plop a green roof onto the Wirth Aquatic Center. Egads! What a remarkable waste of taxpayer money. Here’s what Ryan offered with his e-mail: A big waste of money, no? I really didn’t like to see the line: But [...]

The Elmbrook school board connived with chiropractors all across the city to have graduation in the field house today. I guarantee you there are dozens of folks out there with a back as sore as mine. I sure missed having a real seat. Graduation was great. Food after was great. The graduate chose a menu [...]

It looks like a lot of poop went down at last night’s Water and Sewer board. (Oh, goodness, that was awful, but I really, really, couldn’t resist.) The City, or rather the City’s Water and Sewer board, is digging in their heels about a development going in that needs services. (Make no mistake: Mayor Steve [...]

Fiesta Garibaldi closed at the end of May. Can’t say I’ll miss it! Going in a few doors down is a new Papa Murphy’s. Lots of people I know like their pizza. Another observation: has anyone noticed the inconvenient line of cars that wait for kids from the karate place?

It was a quiet weekend. I liked that. Hope you had a good one, too. — I cut about a dozen peony stems this morning and arranged them. It turned out to be a bit of a biology lesson. I can’t believe all the critters, including a very large grub, that fell out of those [...]
