		<description>Not long ago I was fortunate enough to spend some time with two talented singers that perform internationally but mostly here in the states. They are several generations removed from me but when I mentioned the bands and groups from my era, they were familiar with almost all of them. Each said they were strongly influenced by Carol King and Karen Carpenter-- which surprised me. And while they listened mostly to the usual suspects on their MP-3 players they also included The Beatles and Peter, Paul &amp; Mary. They were truly envious of the era I was fortunate enough to have experienced.
It&#039;s interesting how what is a step backwards in music to some is a leap forward to others.

And my most memorable historic concert--Janis Joplin backed by the Kozmic Blues Band- WOW.</description>
