Bottom line, I’d find someplace else to eat (like Cafe Lulu or Chez Jacques!) before I’d tour the museum. It wasn’t great.
Motor Restaurant is decorated in something of a diner style. Sadly, I noticed the floors and tables were sticky. It’s not that old, but it already looks rather worn.
The food was a mixed bag. Son #2 and I had The HOG, the burger of the month. He had fries, I received this as a side salad:

I popped the failed salad up to the Flickr feed before we even left the restaurant. Oh no, there’s no excuse for that salad. None at all.
Dad had a fish fry without complaint; Mom had breakfast, which actually look pretty good. The youngest had a grilled cheese and tomato soup. The sandwich was awful – soggy before it got to the table.
Dine at your own risk.

We ate at Motor’s last summer on a Thursday night, which is “Bike Night”. We sat outside, there was live music, half price appetizers and $2 draft beers. It was fantastic. We ordered the flat bread pizzas, which were huge, and I think the bill for dinner and beers for three of us was $27. We will definitely try to head down there again on a Thursday night if they are still offering this great deal.

It is a great location. I might give it another try for $2 beer.

With enough beer or wine, good entertainment and good friends in tow .. food is … not always a priority .. they salad looked horrible…
The near by Iron Horse Restaurant is absolutely horrible too. Bad service is the name of the game there.

Prior professional reviews have not been good for the Harley Museum restaurant. The Museum is very well done, though. Original reviews of “Smyth” at the Iron Horse were raves. It made some of the “best of Milwaukee lists” last year. But lately, I’ve heard mixed reviews. The hotel owner was left holding the financing bag according to some news articles, and may be cash strapped, hence any perceived decline in quality of product.

My food (Cindy’s mother) was really pretty good but I have to admit that the bacon cheeseburgers were a little over the top. Now days they just serve too much food and overlook the taste! Biker nite would have to be good.
Cindy hasn’t been to Hooters yet and I have been there 3 times. In OKC the wings are outstanding.
