Delta Airlines woke me up this morning

I’ve certainly never had this happen before, but Delta Airlines called this morning at 4:11 a.m. to let us know the spouse’s flight was delayed by an hour.

Now normally one might think this is helpful news, but 4 a.m.? That counts as a middle-of-the-night phone call. I don’t like those. Historically, they are bad news.

So, has anyone else had this happen? Anyway to keep it from happening again? We always check flights before we leave the house, so it’s not like it was terribly helpful. In theory it would have allowed an extra hour of sleep, but sometimes once you’re awake, you’re awake, and this time it stole about an hour.

Check the hubby’s SkyMiles account online. Go to Manage My Account, Manage Profile, Contact Me. Under Delta Messenger Flight Notifications you probably have the home phone identified as the method you want to be contacted. And under the previous page you probably have your home phone listed and if you Edit it, your window of contact times allows for early morning calls.

Lots of this stuff defaulted back to things your husband may not have had if he’s a converted Northwest flyer. Delta looked to have whacked the Northwest frequent flyer setups.

Have only gotten one early morning call (about 2am), and it was to let me know my 7am was cancelled and I was rebooked on a 10am. Didn’t mind that as it kept me from going to the airport 3 hours early!

Thanks Bdad. I had a feeling it was a FF account merger that messed things up. I’ll go in and change it.
