Procrastination

The only thing left on my list is to clean a certain someone’s closet since that someone won’t come home and do it himself. I hate to tell him, but we’re going to have a bit of a tug of war over who receives the proceeds of that closet’s prized possession. I am quite capable of making a sell post on Ebay and pocketing the proceeds.

I am pleased to report in the three hours or so that I have been working up the physical energy to crawl up the stairs (Particularly rough session this morning including 5-5-5 squats on the Bosu ball. OMG.) I have proudly placed a half dozen garbage bags to grab on my way up.

Oh, boy. This isn’t exactly going as planned.

In the meantime, I await my air conditioner. You see, last week I schedule that installation for this Friday. Let’s just say I’m not known for my timing. Last night wasn’t as rough as the night before, and to be honest, today isn’t bad at all since the humidity is down a bit and there’s quite a breeze.

I’ll let you in on the details after it’s all done.

The spring startup hasn’t gone very smoothly this year. Some years are just like that. The scooter needs a tune up, the hot tub is leaking, the pool pump needs a part before it will happily filter the rotten quantity of algae that took up residence over the winter.

I’m kind of ready to find a small cave with good ventilation and call it home.

Next obvious estate need: a driveway. I think I’ll just glue this one down one more season and deal with it next year.

That’s it. Let’s see if I can find anything else to do before I head to the scary place upstairs.

“Home improvements” scheduled for this summer: $ 10,000 for replacement of 5 windows (did 5 last summer, and must do this in stages due to the cost.) $ 5,000 for chimney repairs and relining. $ 6,500 for driveway restoration and some new walks. Just routine maintenance on a 20 year old house. Did the new furnace and AC 3 years ago for $ 7,500 using the tax credits available. The windows were also eligible for tax credits last year, so that mitigated the cost somewhat. I’m waiting for one of the water heaters and the softener to poop out. I’m ready to move to a brand new house, it would be cheaper.
