Surely I won’t be expected to pine away at home once the youngest heads to the big city. Yes, I’ve been playing with my travel calendar.
I printed out 2010 and 2011 calendars, highlighted my planned trips, found the college calendar and figured out when she’ll be home, and GASP! I found a hole. I seriously need to plan something for the end of April and first of May. My heart said Paris. I found this apartment. I’ve stayed in the 8th before, and it turned out to be really convenient.
Maybe I should just set up a travel planning service. I love planning a trip almost as much as taking it!

Other trips on the calendar? I mentioned Big Sur in November. Of course, there’s Spain in early fall. I love to head to Florida the first week of December. (Thinking Key West, but maybe back to Anna Maria Island.) The kids are talking about Orlando for a week of the youngest’s break in January. Two weeks in Guatemala for February, and maybe Paris at the end of April.
Yep. That should do it.
Okay- with all that travel talk I would like to see some Oklahoma trips on that calendar.
Done. Third week of October for sure, and Meg and I will probably come down during her winter break.
Oh…that apartment looks heavenly! I’ve always wanted to go to Paris, too. Any chance I can stow away in a suitcase???
You are going to have an amazing time! Enjoy!
Sure Pat! I’d recommend a seat instead of the suitcase, though. There is a pull out couch to sleep on.
Looking at the apartment photos really took me off on a decorating tangent. I’m thinking maybe it’s time to redo the house in more of a grown up theme. I think that’s what’s so appealing about that apartment.
Cindy, you hit the nail on the head…grown up decor, indeed! It’s so serene and sophisticated which is what I love about it.
My daughter wants to start taking French in middle school and if all plans go well then perhaps she and I can take this trip in about 5 years. Then you can help us plan it! (BTW, your travel planning service idea sounds great!)
