The big rollout from Republicans this week is a website that lets you choose what programs should be cut from the U.S. budget. Labeled YouCut, you can find it on the Republican whip’s home page.
Pooey. Cut them all.
Instead of more gimmicks, could we possibly get leadership out of you guys? I mean, we know how this ends. You parade these cuts to the floor, they get voted down, and then you whine and whine and whine about how Democrats are ignoring the voice of the people.
Woohoo. The people would much prefer you put your nose to the grindstone and affect the cutback change you can while working towards a majority in congress. Do you really think I believe that if you had a majority you’d be voting these cuts? Heck no. You, my little Republican lovelies, are as beholden to the special interest check writers as the Democrats you long to skewer.
It isn’t my usual stance to suggest we throw all the bums out, but I’m there. I really don’t care who goes down as collateral damage. In the meantime, stick to real issues instead of asking me to “vote” where you require my e-mail address as confirmation.
I get enough junk mail from the party already.
Right on Cindy. we elect public officials to do what we want them to do. then they pass the ball back to us and say you do it. some staffer makes notes and files them. Waukesha County in the heartland of conservatism takes pay raises for officials. Not a good example. they say it is for inflation or the cost of living. small business owners will not vote themselves a pay raise cause it is their own hard earned money. then we get the news that it is already a done deal. small government gets big when they forget about who pays the taxes.
“small government gets big when they forget about who pays the taxes”
That’s rather profound, Dick. Kind of sums up the last couple of decades.
