I guess I better at least check in this morning.

I had a brief e-mail from someone about the new mosque expected in Brookfield. Am I tickled? No. I don’t care if you worship little pink men with green polka dots. I do care that a religious facility at this location will be a feather in the city’s cap to expand Calhoun road.
I sure hope new Mayor Steve Ponto sticks to his promise on this one.
To be honest, I also suspect it could be a while before it gets done. They still need to raise money according to the article. The group has been looking for four or five years. They did buy this parcel – the ownership is defined in the Waukesha County documents – but construction hasn’t been nailed down. I haven’t seen anything come through in the city documents, but I’ve not really been watching very closely.
Perhaps our government can be sure construction is eminent before sinking tax dollars into the construction approval.

I did accomplish a few things on the rainy-day list yesterday. I also read a lovely book yesterday afternoon. Written by two of the youngest’s former dance teachers, I was hooked. I’ve been helping the pair with a simple website the last few months. I’ll let you know when the website goes live, and when the book is published.

My friend Bill Meyer sent me a note on a couple of photography workshops being planned. Here’s an application for The Photographic Essay in a couple of weeks. I did a Waukesha workshop with them a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.
There’s also a plan brewing for a California coastline week next November. I’ve done LA to Big Sur park, and this one is SFO down to Carmel. Sounds like a great compliment! I think I’ll pencil it in.

I’ve decided on a little work and a lot of play. After I throw in a load of laundry, I’m planning to upgrade the router. Let the fun begin.
(Update – I chickened out on the router upgrade. Heatsinks and I have a very bad history.)
