Ok, things have slowed down around here a bit. I’m stuffed. The kitchen is clean. Homework has commenced for the other two with whom I share a residence. True be told, I’m a little bored. So I went to Wisconsin’s BlogNetNews to see what the old crowd was yapping about.
Short answer: not much.
Oh, I know it’s Sunday, and Mother’s Day!, but really, not much was out there. What was left me uninspired. The left appears particularly cranky and the right a little short tempered. Not much love in the cheddarsphere.
Someone e-mailed last week and suggested I’ve “made the transition from being in the frying pan to actually using one.” Clever that one! But, it made me a little sad. I had plans to resurrect Fairly Conservative at some point, and now wonder if maybe that’s a bad idea. After all, if the company I’d keep continues to be as lovable as above, who’d want to play in that crowd?
Still, there’s room for good debate online. We’ve pulled it off once or twice around here. Maybe it’s just a kinder, gentler crowd. Maybe it’s an easier tone. I do kind of miss a little give and take. Part of what I thought always made FC so popular was that different approach.
Anyway, that’s the thinking for this Sunday evening. Here’s to a bright shiny week ahead.
Well, we’ve got a supreme court nominee–that’ll heat things up!
The ineptitude of the Obama administration is unending. At a graduation ceremony here in Virginia our President railed at all the exposure we all have to the many forms of electronics and media to obtain information.

So being the good citizen I am, I tuned in to one of the many talk shows Eric Holder appeared on over the weekend. One of the primary areas of discussion was the new law in Arizona, which Holder objects to and who’s Department will be challenging. He answered many questions and made numerous comments on the new law.
Today, under oath at a Congressional hearing, AG Holder stated he has not read the law-he has relied on the media accounts for his info. (And it’s pretty short–about 12 pages.) Remember all those “present” votes. It’s contagious.

Also, remember the good old days when we had a forum to discuss issues like this and others.
Should I re-open FC for you, Randy? It’s pretty tempting…
No–just venting.
As I stated above, the ineptitude of this administration is unending. Yesterday, a week after AG Eric Holder embarassed himself and the administration, the Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, while appearing before a Senate Committee, continued the ineptitude. After commenting for over a week on the Arizona Bill, the former Governor of Arizona admitted she has not read the 10 page bill.
“You’re doing a heck of a job, Janet”, !
