Dave asked, and so I delivered. I didn’t find a gun, I found a kid who said he had a gun and was punished according to that news. I also found a report on a knife considered a concealed weapon.
I am told thorough research and a bunch of money will get you reports from the Elm Grove police department on everything from chokings to sexting in addition to more weapons.
Was the student with the gun up for expulsion? If so, I must have missed it on the Board’s minutes. Can you show me where I missed it?
I’m still looking for a gun. If not, what is this MSNBC?
Dave
Thank you Cindy.
A parent link phone call went out to all parents at Pilgrim Park yesterday, telling us about a knife that was found .
I think there was a direct link to their admitting such a thing to your post.
It is scary to think that Pilgrim Park said they wouldn’t have reported the knife a student was carrying for a week in the police report you posted, but because the student threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot a 7th grade girl weeks before , they called the police.
Why wouldn’t they simply call the police when a student threatens to shoot a girl? They didn’t , and then say they wouldn’t have reported the knife?
If they weren’t willing to report those 2 things, what else didn’t they tell us.
We need to all wake up and do something.
Dave,
You missed it because the board does not post expulsions.
They also don’t post or report criminal behavior, and don’t expel students for weapons, threatening to kill students, or other things that should not be tolerated.
Obviously, Dave, you’re very happy with your head in its current location. Carry on.
MSNBC is the Democratic cable network.
From Brookfield NOW Police Blotter May 3rd:
OTHER
21A 14-year-old Brookfield boy was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after he brought a knife to Pilgrim Park Middle School, 1500 Pilgrim Parkway, at 12:33 p.m. April 26.
Thank you, Cindy. Your post made the difference in this being reported, and the community being informed.
There are a lot of things the district does not bother to mention.
At Hillside this year, there was a cracked heat exchange in the Kindergarten wing which means that potentially students were exposed to carbon monoxide for an undetermined amount of time. (I say undetermined because they do not know how long the damage existed before being discovered.) This is also the same wing where the music room is housed – meaning all of the children in the school risked exposure.
To date, parents have never been notified that there is the possibility their children were exposed to carbon monoxide – even though several teachers and I have repeatedly requested the school/district do so. Instead, parents were only told that the heat was broken and later fixed.
Maggie hit the nail on the head. It certainly does make a parent wonder just how safe our children are and if the district takes their safety seriously.
