Well, I put the youngest on a plane for a trip to Disneyworld this morning. She was honored with a spot from Badgerette Pom pons to participate in the yearly outing.
I’m out of work for the next couple of days. Except for letting the dog out, I haven’t anything on my job description right now. So…I guess I’ll be working on that new Web site idea. I’ve found a series of templates that look promising, and darn, that’s so much better than coding my own.
The cold of the year is hanging on. Man, I don’t wish this virus on anyone. It’s been a big surprise how much it slowed me down.

Just a note to Ponto’s campaign if he’s reading: It’s time to get those “vote today” riders off your signs.
I congratulate Dave Marcello for the effort he made to collect his signs post primary. It’s greatly appreciated.
My Lent is watching a mayoral campaign. I’m thinking that may be penance enough.

It’s that time of year. Where’s your favorite fish fry? Is there anywhere you go that also offers a non-fried option?
Years ago the neighborhood used to get together once a Lent and head somewhere like Serb Hall. Now I’m more likely to drive through at Culvers. (Not a bad offering, in my opinion, though I’m generally Culver’s adverse around here.)
Other Friday favorites for this observance? We’re big into grilled cheese and tomato soup. It keeps it really simple.

Angelina’s Deli on North just east of Pilgrim Road has good fried and baked fish. You might want to try them. It’s not usually a very long wait for take out.

Try Kurt’s in Delafield. Steaks are excellent. Fish Fry is very solid and good. But their Seafood Alfredo with big shrimp, big scallops and small lobster tail is to die for. And the rolls served … seriously good…. they do a quick dip in a fryer with the rolls which gives them their to die for flavor.

North Star has a great fish fry. Just saw in JSOnline that the critic recommends Slim Mcginns West. I find Post 449 to be on and off, they keep changing food vendors so often it’s dizzying! Post has a baked option, North Star a pan fried.
