I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but it looks like the hit abuse this site and Fairly Conservative were experiencing has stopped.

To my surprise, the originating internet provider did respond briefly. When I included my traffic logs – well not the whole thing because it kept crashing my browser – it all clicked right along. The hits stopped a couple of hours ago.

No, I don’t know exactly what happened. But two things are in my favor: The traffic won’t interfere with the site anymore, and I now have a ticket number I can subpoena if things get nastier.

Sadly, I expect they will. If someone’s internet was cut tonight, he’s not going to be happy about it. I am prepared for the next step if I have to take it.

And now I have proof.

Listen, I’m fully aware a part of Brookfield still laughs at me. Of course they do it behind cloaked IPs and anonymous comments, but it’s still sometimes hard to endure. You guys have no idea what I’ve put up with to keep a voice in this community.

I have to say days like today are when my very geeky side gets a pat on the back. I knew what to do, I did it, and it may have worked. For now I’ll take that for a quick victory lap.
