Thursday and absolutely nothing on the calendar

Zero. Zip. Nada.

I already know what’s for dinner.

The house is clean.

I guess that means it’s a day in the back room organizing computer cords and craft supplies. I’m hoping to get the kids’ baby memorabilia sorted, too.

My sad news for the day (ok, not really, but life is pretty good if this is as bad as it gets) is that I have to buy onions. I’ve been living out of a stash purchased at one of the last farmers’ markets, and when I reached in this morning to slice the last one for Teriyaki Chicken, it was squishy.

Still Alice is almost finished. This book is bugging me. I have a feeling it will for a while. This morning when I went down to the basement to get the chicken out of the freezer I had one of those “now what am I here for?” moments. Those little gems have a whole new context. I rationalized the moment as pre-coffee.

I’ve also been playing with an idea to print a photo – the main one in the banner above – into two or three canvases to put over the fire place. It would be kind of like this. I like the idea of nothing, nothing, and then the copse of trees. I’m also considering softening the tone, maybe even a sepia.

Guess I’ll check in later. While nothing is on the calendar, it appears I have stuff to do!
