You’ll have to grant me a little room here. It’s got to be said.
No, I’m not going to run. Yes, I had a weak moment.
I love politics. I’m good at the work of anticipating the pros and cons of legislation. I am successful. I am content. I am both a good listener and one to sum things up well. I apply a great deal of common sense to my daily life.
In short, I’d love to vote for someone just like me.
However…
It’s not worth it. With all the good of serving and the occasional parade, one gets to deal with things like the creepy stalker guy and lots of superficial living, not to mention begging for money to manage a campaign account.
(I don’t like creepy stalker guy. I’m doing my very best to get him to go away. Running for a state office really doesn’t serve that goal very well at all.)
So thanks, but no thanks. Yes, it was a very exciting thought before reality set in and stayed. And yes, I very much appreciate your enthusiasm over the idea, but no, I won’t be running.
