Monday’s to do list

While it would be tempting to lounge on the couch and feel the glory of a house all to myself, there’s stuff to get done.

1) Did you know that latest Diana Gabaldon book in the Outlander series is out? Me either. A girlfriend e-mailed me yesterday. It looks like there’s a copy on the shelf at the library, so I’m off to get it.

The book An Echo in the Bone was rumored at one time to be the last in the series, but Gabaldon now says it isn’t. I still remember exactly how A Breath of Snow and Ashes ended. It’s my second favorite ending in a book ever. (Lisa See’s Snowflower and the Secret Fan is my first.)

2) The last remnants of Cindy the Politician are moving out of the house today. A couple of boxes of sign stands are headed to an acquaintance running for office in another community. They are technically on loan, but I’m hoping once they are out of the house, they won’t be finding their way home.

3) Part of the clutter free experience has been uncovering a multitude of printers. While they all work, not one of them is being used. I saw in the paper yesterday where an old printer can get you $50 off a spiffy new one. I promised the oldest a wifi network all-in-one for his home office. I think I’ll pick up a new color inkjet to replace the old reliable we’ve been using for the last 7 or 8 years. (I’m not kidding. It’s been a workhorse, but I think it’s time.)

There are few less exciting tasks like gas for the van and a trip the the grocery – oh, and someone brought down their laundry this morning :( . It’s going to be a full day.

Happy first working day of the New Year everyone. Hope all goes well.

I got an old laser printer from 1998 that still works fine. Prints 6000 pages on a single toner cartridge, and the toner is only $100! Of course, I still have my HP DeskJet F2240, but I mainly use it just for the scanner.
