The oldest and I went to see it tonight. I loved it.

I admit, I was hard on the book. The movie did much to redeem the author. In the movie she is endearing instead of spoiled.

Meryl Streep as Julia Child is the best darn thing I’ve seen in ages. I haven’t always been a Meryl Streep fan, but a couple of the recent things she’s done, Mama Mia! and The Devil Wears Prada, were really spot on. (Oh, yes. I looooooved Mama Mia! I wasn’t supposed to, but I did anyway. Besides, Collin Firth was in it.)

If you get a chance, go see it. I’ll warn you: don’t go into the theater hungry.
